Satyaki Ghosh, a 24-year-old aspiring designer, initially ventured into animation out of passion. However, under his father’s influence, who has been an independent interior designer for over 14 years, Ghosh found himself drawn to interior design. While his father’s design approach leans towards traditional aesthetics and client-driven reliability, Satyaki enjoys exploring the intersection of modern and traditional styles. “I don’t have a specific style right now; I’m still exploring,” he said, enjoying the opportunity to mix styles and create a fresh identity in his designs, which is also a journey that his father encourages as part of his desgin revolution.
A New Tool for a New Generation
In their design journey, one key difference emerged: their choice of tools. Satyaki’s father relies on traditional software like Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max, which demand powerful hardware and lengthy rendering times. Satyaki, however, introduced his father to Coohom, the web-based design tool that’s faster and more accessible. “After I introduced him to Coohom, he told me this software is much more time-saving,” Satyaki shared. Initially drawn to Coohom for its ease of access and intuitive interface, Satyaki quickly realized the benefits it could bring to his father’s business, offering high-quality renders in just 10-15 minutes without needing extensive technical resources.
Learning from the Past, Innovating for the Future
As Satyaki experiments with modern design tools, he also appreciates his father’s mentorship. “My father knows I am new to this, so he doesn’t expect too much from me yet,” he explained. Still, his father’s focus on practical, reliable design has influenced Satyaki’s approach, particularly when it comes to prioritizing customer satisfaction. “He told me to do the interior part more reliably, which leads customers to be attracted,” Satyaki said, recognizing the importance of creating functional yet appealing spaces. His father’s expertise in areas like kitchen and interior design gives Satyaki a strong foundation to build upon while allowing him room to innovate.

This father-son relationship in design reflects both respect and a shared drive for improvement. While Satyaki introduces new tools like Coohom that revolutionize workflow, he remains grounded by his father’s practical advice.
