As the area within the home that requires the greatest wisdom in making the best use of every inch of space, the design of small-sized bathrooms always cannot avoid the dual issues of “appearance quality and practicality”.

Based on the 3 schemes of Coohom, we have dissected three distinct design concepts – from the soothing coastal minimalism, to the retro and warm earth tones, to the vibrant and modern tropical style. Without major alterations, simply by precisely controlling the colors, materials and flow, we can make the small bathroom space break free from the oppressive atmosphere and become a functional and aesthetically pleasing private corner in the home.

01  Coastal Minimalist Style | Using soft colors as the base, creating a relaxed and healing corner

The core of this design is to alleviate the sense of congestion in small spaces through the combination of “low saturation and natural texture”.

The overall color scheme is based on Pantone 15-4005TCX Dream Blue. This soft matte blue is neither dazzling nor dull. Just by applying it to the background wall of the washbasin, it injects a refreshing and healing atmosphere into the space.

Combined with cream-colored geometric-patterned wall tiles, the coolness of the blue color is neutralized. Additionally, the Luzerne black walnut herringbone floor tiles add to the balance between warmth and coolness, giving the small bathroom space a “soft light filter”. Even during a hurried morning wash, one can still have a sense of composure.

02  Earthy Color Palette Modern Style | Red Clay Colored with Sage Green, Unleashing Retro Charm

Breaking the stereotype that “small-sized apartments can only use light colors”, this set of designs uses rich earth tones to create a bathroom space that combines a retro feel with practicality.

The core color scheme is mainly composed of Pantone NCS S 3010-G20Y sage green paint pairs and red earthenware mosaic tiles. The combination of these two colors creates a rich Mediterranean pastoral style – the coolness of the mint green counterbalances the intensity of the red earthenware, making the space warm yet not hot, and exuding a retro charm.

The warm-toned white marble countertop, with its natural white texture, reduces the heaviness of the color, making the overall visual effect more light and airy, and perfectly suitable for the scale of small-sized apartments.

03 Tropical Modern Style | Bold Color Combination, Creating a Vibrant Urban Jungle

If the previous two groups were “healing” designs, this group of schemes is the preferred choice of the “individualistic” style. Inspired by tropical elements, with bold colors and patterns, the bathroom becomes the most vibrant corner of the home.
The main color tone is Pantone 16-1347 TCX Peach Caramel. This warm orange hue exudes a sense of sunshine and, when combined with the forest green ceramic tiles, paired with an entire mural of tropical green plants, it instantly creates an atmosphere of a “urban jungle”.
The addition of white marble has made the overall appearance cleaner. The space is lively yet not chaotic, perfectly balancing individuality with livability.
