Meet Norma: An Emerging Atlanta Designer

Norma Angelica Hernandez is a promising interior designer based in Atlanta, Georgia. A 2025 graduate of Gwinnett Technical College, she completed her degree in just 1.5 years (including summer semesters) through dedicated focus. Currently specializing in residential design, Norma has already transformed her own kitchen and has several projects lined up for friends and family. She works at a custom furniture and window treatment workshop, where she connects with established design firms such as Melanie TurnerInteriors and The Design Atelier – gaining inspiration from their residential projects while developing her own design philosophy and technical skills.

Design Philosophy & Work Style: Effortlessly Elevated Spaces

Norma describes her design style as “effortlessly elevated and serene.” She embraces minimalism – not the stark, cold variety, but rather tranquil color palettes with timeless materials enriched by textures and personal touches. “Spaces should feel like homes, not showrooms,” she emphasizes. Her approach focuses on creating environments that are both beautiful and livable.

Inspiration: Designing with Emotion

For Norma, emotion is the driving force behind her work. “Designs are very personal,” she explains. “If for the public, they must be intentional.” Whether through smart space planning or carefully chosen decorative elements, her goal is always to improve daily life and help people feel their best in the spaces she creates.

First Discovered Coohom: A Classmate’s Game-Changing Recommendation

Norma’s introduction to Coohom came through classmate Daniela Gonzalez, who recommended it to their entire design class. “All 12 of us tried it and never looked back!” she recalls. The software quickly became an essential tool in her design process.

Using Coohom: Bringing Visions to Life

Norma primarily uses Coohom for renderings: “They allow me to communicate and display the ideas in my mind.” She considers renderings indispensable, regardless of project scale. Her favorite features include:

High-quality rendering tools

Extensive library of furniture, décor and construction models

Custom lighting plan capabilities (“Lighting is a HUGE factor in design!”)

She rates Coohom 10/10 for its impact: “It elevated my presentations so much that it made me fall deeper in love with design and all its possibilities.”
