A Lifelong Passion for Design

With over 22 years of experience, Pam Tafarella—a New York-based independent interior designer—has been helping clients transform their spaces and bring their dreams to life.

From an early age, Pam was drawn to artistic pursuits. Determined to avoid the stereotype of the “starving artist,” she chose to channel her creativity into interior design—a decision that would shape her professional journey. “This is exactly where I’m meant to be,” she reflects. “I can’t imagine doing anything else.”

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Marketing, and Design, Pam established The Good Design Company. Now collaborating with designers nationwide on both residential and commercial projects, she approaches design as more than just aesthetics—it’s about creative problem-solving.

Five years ago, Pam discovered her true passion: 3D renderings. “There’s something magical about transforming flat floor plans into breathtaking virtual realities,” she says. “The best part is hearing clients say ‘my client was blown away’ or ‘we finished the project and she can’t believe the accuracy!'”

Discovering Coohom: A Game-Changer

Pam’s workflow transformed when she discovered Coohom. Coohom seamlessly integrates with her existing toolkit—SketchUp, 3D Warehouse, and Canva—allowing effortless file transfers between programs.

What makes Coohom stand out? Its exceptional floor plan capabilities and real-time rendering. “The extensive model library and rendering speed are impressive,” Pam notes. “But what really won me over was how it simplifies complex designs.”

While there was an initial learning curve, Pam found Coohom remarkably user-friendly. “The Coohom Youtube tutorials were a lifesaver,” she admits. “My advice to new users? Watch them all!”

Her recent project—a moody, cocoon-like lounge featuring the dramatic Next Summer wallpaper—showcases Coohom’s capabilities. “The wallpaper dictated every design choice,” Pam explains. “Coohom brought that vision to life effortlessly.”

The power of visualisation

One early project demonstrated the power of 3D visualization. A designer was ready to abandon a project with an indecisive client who couldn’t visualize the proposed concepts. “Everything changed when we introduced the 3D renders,” Pam recalls. “It was like flipping a switch—suddenly the client understood exactly what we were proposing. That’s when I knew this was something special.”

Transformative experiences led Pam to give Coohom a perfect 10/10 rating. “It’s intuitive, fast, and makes professional-quality rendering accessible,” she affirms. “For designers looking to streamline their workflow, it’s essential.” Her advice for new users? “Be patient with the model search, leverage the tutorials, and let Coohom handle the technical work. That frees you to focus on the creative magic.”

AI Considerations & The Future of Design

As Pam sets her sights on larger projects, she remains thoughtful about technology’s role. While impressed by AI tools, she notes their limitations: “The images are beautiful, but clients need precision, not just pretty pictures.” Pam’s career exemplifies how technology can enhance—not replace—human creativity. By blending artistic vision with cutting-edge tools, she continues to prove that great design isn’t just about what you see, but about making others believe in the possibilities.

Pam’s journey epitomizes how technology elevates interior design, merging creativity with efficiency. With 22 years of experience, she harnesses 3D rendering to transform vague ideas into compelling visual narratives, resolving client uncertainties and enhancing collaboration. Her story celebrates the balance between artistic vision and technological innovation, offering a roadmap for designers to amplify their impact while staying true to the craft’s creative heart.
